Well, what 36 campers did at NSSA’s one-week summer camp!  The annual Day Camp Program offers structure and recreation opportunities for children with autism at the close of summer school sessions, a time when those things are typically not available. In addition to developing sports and leisure skills, the camp benefits children with autism by giving them opportunities for social and community integration.

Plus, it’s fun  🙂

This year’s camp took place the third week of August, which was a week of perfect weather so campers got to take advantage of the bouncy house, playground, and the pool and track.  There were also field trips to Commack Bowling, Pump-It-Up, and Kzam, and indoor activities such as arts&crafts .

It’s so nice each year to see a new batch of campers arrive and get in the swing of things here at NSSA but before we know it the week is over. See ya next year at Camp NSSA!
