The continued need for community-based supports for people with developmental disabilities and behavorial health needs will be the topic of discussion at the LIFSSAC’S upcoming quarterly meeting. The new program (START) designed to address the need for crisis will be featured. There will be a question and answer period that we are sure will be informative to families regarding behavioral health supports.

The Long Island Family Support Services Advisory Council (LIFSSAC) advocates on behalf of all families who have a family member with a developmental disability, and works to continually improve the quality of services for individuals and families throughout New York State. The role of the council is to provide a voice for individuals and families working with, and through, the DDRO to plan, develop, and monitor, Family Support Services on Long Island.
