The Martin C Barell school was opened in 1993, providing year-round individualized educational programming and instruction for individuals with autism ages 5-21, utilizing the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Our Adult Service Program was created in 2004 to enable students to continue to learn through the provision of direct instruction, as well as vocational and community opportunities, throughout their adult lives.

NSSA’s Consultation Services Program expands its reach to the local autism community by sharing its knowledge and expertise with school districts throughout Long Island.

NSSA provides a variety of outreach services to assist families caring for loved ones with autism. These services include parent workshops, monthly visitors days, and more.

This program prepares recent graduates for independent life in their local communities. Its Lifelong Learning Curriculum addresses a variety of domains including safety, written and verbal communication, nutrition, cooking, hygiene, money management, self-help, and more.
